Marketing/ Go To Market will clearly position the Energy Enterprise Business Units in the marketplace by identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements in target markets profitably. This is the outcome of the marketing strategy. It sits alongside the trading and asset strategies as one of the three key components which make up the overall BU strategies.
The Strategic Marketing Manager & Business Development Manager Transport Fuels Americas will define and execute the marketing strategy for physical TF products and services. They will develop the value propositions for targeted customer segments and align and develop the resources to deliver them. This effort will deliver the sustainable revenues targeted in the Energy Transportation & Metals strategy.
The focus will be on the marketing of Transportation Fuels products in the Americas and the integration of product originationwith global marketing strategies outside of the region. There is a very clear primary focus on supporting the GTM component of the Platform US strategy. The individual will be responsible for leading the business development and sales activity which executes the marketing strategy. They will define, build and lead the sales teams to drive the short and long-term customer development work necessary to deliver the sustainable revenue streams key to the strategy. Central to this is responsibility for developing a pipeline of sales opportunities for external customers. Geographically this will focus on North America but will encompass the emerging opportunity in Latin America and integrate with GTM strategies in other geographies.
Close alignment with the GTM group responsible for risk management will be key in developing needs-based structured solutions for our customers.
Alignment will also be required with Trade Structured Finance, Cargill Risk Management and Black River Asset Management to leverage Cargills broader capabilities.
Once the marketing strategy is defined the individual will be expected to play an active role in helping develop multi-level customer relationships in targeted customers.

Education, Experience,
Experience
Minimum 10 years commercial experience in the North American oil industry
Responsibility for development and implementation of marketing strategy in a B2B environment
Experience in developing strategic customer relationships and credibility in engaging with customers at different levels
Internal relationship development experience to align businesses
Experience operating in an ambiguous environment and comfortable in setting direction for self and others
Strong analytical capability
Evidence of solution selling
Consulting experience with a name firm or internal experience at a blue chip company
Global experience where appropriate
Emerging markets experience
Technical Skills
Evidence of strong B2B marketing competence
Market analytics
Sales and business development skills
Business fluency in appropriate languages where required
MBA or similar post-graduate business qualification and/or
Post-graduate marketing qualification preferred although this is not a requirement
Career Development
This role has the responsibility for delivering the customer component of the ETM strategy. It is a high profile role with high expectations of the successful candidate. It will enable the individual to develop a deep knowledge of Cargills ETM platform as well as the broader business. The successful individual will have had to show a combination of strategic marketing and pragmatic business development skills which will position themselves for senior commercial roles within ETM and the broader Cargill. There will be accountability to the BU leader and Marketing Director for delivering a specific financial return.
