Telecommunications & Cable Plant Analyst

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Job Duties: Perform project management coordination and communications – The candidate shall assist the client by providing support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders. In addition, the candidate shall provide in-depth engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives for government agencies in support of their strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancement design for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures. The candidate shall interface, and coordinate with personnel at USCIS Headquarters, USCIS Regional offices, District offices, Service centers, Asylum offices, Department of Justice, General Services Administration (GSA), US Army Corps of Engineers and civilian contractors, architects, and engineers. The Cabling Candidate shall gather requirements, establish schedules, chair and attend meetings, communicate and coordinate projects with various cable contractors, track project costs and interface with USCIS OIT customers. This support is limited to the external wire/cable requirements associated with providing connectivity for the WAN voice and data circuits (i.e. telco vendor to the dmark). Providing service to the inside wire/cable (i.e. LAN-to-user) is not in this scope of work. Activities will include actions to: • Coordinate standardized implementation of wiring and cabling projects and oversee requirements documentation in support of Wide Area Network (WAN) voice and data connectivity • Review technical designs, provide technical analysis to resolve problems, and issue reports on trouble resolutions • Provide oversight on the ordering and placement of equipment, lines and cable for new offices, office expansions, relocations, system enhancements/additions, etc. • Perform project management coordination and communication to include cabling vendors, contractors, local exchange carriers, and designated government personnel • Perform reviews of wiring plans developed by vendors and oversees development of layout drawings • Provide technical assistance and evaluation of circuit orders and review of wiring designs to ensure compliance with USCIS standards
