TEXAS AIR NATIONAL GUARD

EXCEPTED TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

This position is located in the 147th Reconnaissance Wing, Ellington AFB, Houston, TX.  The purpose of this position is to provide information technology system support to the assigned unit.   The incumbent provides systems administration support on workstations and servers using multiple operating systems.   The incumbent is responsible for installing and testing the system security configuration and monitoring, operating, troubleshooting and maintaining workstation and server hardware and software.   The incumbent is the primary customer support specialist for the classified systems used throughout the unit.

Open Areas of Consideration: Nationwide Excepted. This includes:

• All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Texas Air National Guard.

Appointment Factors: This is a Permanent Excepted Position open to Enlisted members ranking E-5 (SSgt) Not to Exceed E-6 (Technical Sergeant).  This is a Bargaining Unit position.
 
Remarks:   THIS POSITION INVOLVES CRITICAL REMOTELY PILOTED AIRCRAFT (RPA) GROUND CONTROL STATION (GCS) MAINTENANCE DUTIES.  MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 12 MONTHS MQ-1/MQ-9 AND/OR GCS EXPERIENCE.  

 
PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION: PCS expenses are not authorized.
