JOB SUMMARY:
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Under supervision, performs planning and programming activities in support of the HCMPO process. Work requires contact with departmental managers, local government officials, and the general public.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
1.Reports to:Director and/or Assistant Director of HCMPO; Planner II and/or Planner III
2.Directs:Mostly a non-supervisory position but HCMPO Director might delegate to do so.
3.Other: Works closely with representatives of all local government HCMPO Members.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
Essential Duties*
Operates the Travel Demand Model and completes the federally mandated transportation planning tasks;
Keeps governing body informed of the previously mentioned programs;
Collects and analyzes socio-economic data;
Assists Planner II and/or Planner III in completing planning documents (i.e., Transportation Improvement Program, Unified Planning Work Program, and the Metropolitan Transportation Plan);
Performs technical analysis, works on the coding of road and transit networks,and collects and prepares data for the Travel Demand Model;
Prepares memorandums and reports;
May make oral and/or written presentations to the Metropolitan Planning OrganizationA
