JOB SUMMARY:
Process Safety Coordinator - Sr Specialist (PCK516-19211) needed for an Altamont employer. The primarily responsibility of this position is to provide Process Safety support for Natural Gas Pipeline Business Unit. The individual will be required to implement the process safety related programs as applicable. Facility types will include cryogenic gas processing, refrigerated gas processing, gas treating, LNG vaporization terminals, compressor stations, and meter stations in the US and Canada. Due to the remote location of where the position is located and the assigned area of responsibility (primarily covering facilities in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and Wyoming), the individual will need the knowledge and experience in this profession to make independent decisions on training and expenditures along with being able to implement and correct process safety programs within the business unit. 10-15 years of experience. Position is full time. Wage is negotiable. The job could be located within the multi-state region covering northern Utah, southern Wyoming, and Colorado. Position Requirements: Specific responsibilities include: Conceptualize, develop and implement Process Safety programs, policies, and procedures. Research regulatory and technical data and advise customers, departmental management, and other safety staff on technical issues, regulatory analysis and performance trends. Serve as process safety facilitator and advisor for a variety of projects. Provide due diligence expertise and make recommendations on major projects and possible acquisitions Serve as technical adviser for high level incident investigation and emergency response activities. Perform or facilitate Process Safety facility reviews, PSM Audits, PHA Revalidations, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews. Develop reports, identify trends, and develop practical corrective actions. Requires valid drivers license, satisfactory driving record, and approximately 70% travel Excellent knowledge of the safety profession and ability to identify, select, and implement alternative courses of action. Candidate should have an Engineering, Safety Professional, and/or Operations background with strong process safety knowledge for risk reduction techniques and facilitation of process safety culture through a combination of work experience and qualifications. Ability to project a strong professional image Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate difficult issues effectively Capable of conducting excellent presentations in front of management and/or operations personnel High proficiency with computers and working knowledge of MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to understand, interpret, and correct Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PID), Cause Effect Diagrams, Plot Plans, and other Engineering drawings. Knowledge of mechanical integrity concepts, Non Destructive Testing, and NDT data analysis Qualification as a Process Hazard Analysis Facilitator with demonstrated experience preferred Qualification as a Process Safety Auditor with demonstrated experience preferred Ability to provide solutions to highly complex problems and work in a team environment Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively under pressure and time deadlines Self motivated with ability to effectively manage multiple projects with minimal supervision Demonstrates a strong knowledge of the process safety profession and ability to identify and select alternative courses of action Detailed knowledge of process safety concepts, PSM regulations / RMP regulations, Engineering Codes Standards, incident investigator training, and other applicable best practices from NFPA, NEC, and API. Previous Field /Startup Engineering or Operations experience. Certification is beneficial, but not required
