JOB SUMMARY:
Accountabilities Responsible for providing volunteer service and support to new and existing volunteers in assigned geographic area by developing and implementing retention, recognition, and mentoring strategies. Research and develop retention strategies that are customized to the particular needs of the council and that create an integrated organization-wide commitment to volunteer retention. Provide advice, guidance, and support in all facets of volunteer engagement and development. Develop a collection of volunteer opportunities, allowing for individual enrichment, career progression and work/life balance throughout a volunteers involvement. Communicate the needs of the council for current and future volunteer opportunities, ensuring a variety of short-term and long-term volunteer opportunities that support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Develop and administer a volunteer coaching program in partnership with staff members and volunteers. Assist with conflict resolution among staff and volunteers in a variety of volunteer relation issues. Qualifications Minimum three years in volunteer management or volunteer supervision. Minimum three years in customer service and with demonstrated conflict management skills. Demonstrated experience working effectively with and leading adult volunteers. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, lead, and train staff members, volunteers, and community members. Bachelors degree in business, non-profit management, marketing, or business preferred; related experience considered. Preference given for fluency in Spanish. Must be a self-driven, self-starter individual with an entrepreneurial spirit. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Sound decision-making and problem-solving ability. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, ability to work independently, prioritize projects, meet deadlines with excellent time management skills, gather and analyze information, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple projects. Computer proficient in Microsoft office, databases, email, internet applications, and social media. Compensation Benefits Starting annual salary: $30,300 to $37,000. Starting salary is based on qualifications. Benefits include 85% employer paid medical insurance for staff member and 100% employer paid dental insurance, life insurance, and long-term disability for staff member. Option to add dependents to plan. Employer matching 401(k) plan, flexible spending account, and EAP. Generous paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave. Paid week off between December 24 and January 1.
