MAP Specialists - Principal (Control Room) Requisition # SAL001CU The MAP Specialist - Principal manages all control room aspects within the MAP operations area. Responsibilities will include operating multiple types of chemical processing equipment within specified parameters to maximize production rates without compromising personnel safety, the environment, or equipment integrity. Accountabilities: ?Promotes and exemplifies a Zero Harm work environment ?Ensures all health, safety and environmental standards for Rio Tinto and outside regulatory agencies are complied with ?Leads, instructs, trains, and serves as a role model to other employees ?Ensures production is safely achieved in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements ?Responsible for monitoring and controlling all MAP chemical processes through the Distributed Control System (DCS) ?Responds to and take corrective action on process parameters outside of set points, alarms, or other problems identified through the DCS ?Directs work necessary to correct process and operational problems ?Coordinates with other MAP Specialists to ensure correct and efficient operations of the plant ?Provides fill-in support for MAP Superintendents ?Functions in a service oriented manner as a technical resource for work teams and management ?Subject matter expert regarding operating and troubleshooting equipment and processes ?Supports other MAP Specialists in achieving plant goals Qualifications: ?A minimum of 5 years control room experience preferred ?Two year college degree, technical/trade degree, or equivalent experience is required ?Experience in autoclaving, solvent extraction, leaching, crystallizing and calcining is strongly preferred ?Strong commitment and demonstration for Health, Safety and Environment required ?Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment ?Strong computer skills, with proven ability to learn multiple systems and software ?High-level skills in communication, including written, oral, and electronic forms required ?Experience with DeltaV, PROVOX, or other DCS system is strongly preferred ?Experience with SAP, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), or other Enterprise Systems is preferred ?Demonstrate a style of participative management in problem solving, project implementation and continuous improvement
