JOB SUMMARY:
MAP Specialists - Principal (Mechanical / Electrical) Requisition # SAL001DJ The MAP Specialist - Principal will be expected to troubleshoot, maintain and operate multiple types of chemical processing equipment within specified parameters to maximize production rates without compromising personnel safety, the environment, or equipment integrity. Areas of responsibility will include: continuous autoclaving, solvent extraction, drying and calcining, crystallization, packaging, shipping, shipping administration, rhenium recovery (ion exchange technology), ammonia stripping and absorption, laboratory (dry and wet), leaching, metals precipitation, molybdenum purification, reagents, concentrate receiving and control systems. Accountabilities: ?Promotes and exemplifies a Zero Harm work environment ?Ensures all health, safety and environmental standards for Rio Tinto and outside regulatory agencies are complied with ?Leads, instructs, trains, and serves as a role model to other employees ?Ensures production is safely achieved in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements ?Gathers and interprets predictive maintenance data ?Responsible for inspecting, maintaining and operating all MAP facilities, equipment and chemical processes ?Operates mobile, stationary and other plant equipment or machines to facilitate installation, repair work and plant operations ?Develops training initiatives associated with mechanical, electrical and operational improvements ?Leads and participates in maintenance planning, prioritization, scheduling, and backlog reviews ?Oversees Mechanical and Electrical Projects ?Provides leadership, direction, and coordination of mechanical and electrical maintenance with MAP Asset Management and production groups ?Develops strategies to maximize asset and equipment life-cycle management ?Assists with development of maintenance budget ?Supports other MAP Specialists in achieving plant goals Qualifications: ?8+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing, heavy industrial, chemical process or analytical laboratory setting preferred ?Two year college degree, technical/trade degree, or equivalent experience is required ?Must be able and willing to work a schedule that supports the business needs including: rotating shifts, weekend work, and holiday work. ?Experience in autoclaving, solvent extraction, leaching, crystallizing and calcining is strongly preferred ?Strong commitment and demonstration for Health, Safety and Environment required ?Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment ?Strong computer skills, with proven ability to learn multiple systems and software ?High-level skills in communication, including written, oral, and electronic forms required ?Experience with SAP, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), or other Enterprise Systems is preferred ?Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience desired: ?Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical design drawings ?Piping and structural welding - certification preferred ?Hydraulic and pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair ?Mechanical seal repair and replacement ?DC electrical motors and controls troubleshooting and repair ?Low and medium voltage, 3 phase electrical motors, transformers and switchgear ?4160 V motors, transformers and switchgear ?Rotating equipment troubleshooting and repair - pumps, compressors, turbines ?Lubrication testing and management ?Steam and liquid piping systems. ?Laboratory analytical equipment ?Material handling systems and robots ?Control Systems hardware programming - PLC, DCS ?Oxygen piping and handling systems ?Mobile equipment operation - forklifts, manlifts, hoisting equipment, loaders, etc. ?Alloy welding of titanium and duplex stainless steels - certification strongly preferred.
