JOB SUMMARY:
Principal Advisor - Predictive Maintenance (PdM) - KUC Asset Management Requisition # SAL001DQ ?Lead small project teams of process control professionals in identifying, implementing and embedding projects with high value, including: ?Leadership in team safety and participation in performance management of team members ?Accountability for partnering with site to ensure sustained value delivery from process control implementation work ?Project management in terms of cost and time ?Assist in the development of KUC technical standards and processes ?Actively support the Process Control Community of Practice as well as knowledge sharing and promotion of the discipline within MTS and more broadly across the Rio Tinto Group ?Mentor team members within KUC and provide coaching of staff at sites during implementation work ?Identify support development of capabilities to facilitate and leverage the transfer of technical knowledge across KUC and the Rio Tinto Group ?Liaise with contacts in Rio Tinto and the global mining industry to identify and maintain awareness of leading practice in process control, including opportunities for future technical and operational improvement ?Participate in Group-wide business improvement initiatives including 'Improving Performance Together' projects ?Review of specific in-progress technical work conducted by Rio Tinto and, on occasions, within Rio Tinto businesses ?Actively support Rio Tinto and KUC health, safety and environmental standards EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS: College/University Education: ?Degree qualification in Electrical, Chemical or Systems engineering (or other relevant discipline) ?Post-graduate degree in Process Control (or similar field) is desirable Other Qualifications: ?Minimum of 10 years of Process Control related experience in technical or leadership roles in operations or consulting ?A track record of finding practical solutions to technical problems at operating sites ?Good understanding of the mining and metals industry and the processing unit operations used therein ?Able to operate at the strategic level ?Successfully managed and delivered projects on time and within budget ?Strong design and implementation knowledge of a broad range of process control techniques ?Strong mathematical skills and ability to represent simple process behavior in equation form (models) ?Be competent in at least one programming or scripting language (Matlab or other mathematical language is desirable) as well as experience programming DCS or PLC systems ?Technical writing, including report and presentation generation ?Ability to evaluate complex situations and problems using multiple sources of information Training: ?Short courses in Process Control or equivalent project experience is desirable
