Superintendent - Precious Metals Operations (Refinery) Requisition # SAL001EE The Superintendent - Precious Metals Operations is responsible for the safe operation of the Refinery Precious Metals plant and for all phases of the operation to include HSE (health, safety, and environmental), plant operation and plant optimization. Responsible for leading, coaching and developing supervisors and operations employees to create a high efficiency work force. The Superintendent - Precious Metals Operations is responsible for leading continuous improvement processes through involvement of Precious Metals team members utilizing tools such as Six Sigma, 5S and Lean. The person in this role owns the Precious Metals process, coordinates projects, ensure plant safety and environmental compliance. The Superintendent - Precious Metals Operations manages an Operational budget of approximately 6.7 million dollars and capital plan of approximately 3 million dollars. Responsible to report on compliance to budget, research and correct variances. EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS: College/University Education: ?B.S. Degree in an engineering or related field or equivalent education and experience. Other Qualifications: ?4 to 8 years related experience, with at least 3 in a supervisory or managerial function ?Must have a strong, demonstrated commitment to safety, with strong leadership, supervisory and people skills. ?Leadership skills in providing direction and setting expectations for area, evaluating and motivating employees, and maintaining safety commitment. ?Leadership and organizational skills suited to managing a diverse group within the Precious Metals team. ?Skills in project management including: administration and planning of all personnel and resources need to complete projects. ?High-level communication skills in all forms of communication including written, oral, presentations, and all electronic forms. ?Specific knowledge and skills in an engineering or business discipline as dictated by area needs. ?Must possess sound knowledge of operations and processing. ?Must have a proven track record of problem solving and be a self starter. ?Must be able to perform at the Superintendent level and take responsibility for control of personnel, operational excellence, compliance, and reporting. ?Excellent communication, facilitation and analytical skills. ?Must be able to synthesize novel solutions to requests for information, improvement, and recognize opportunities for improvement. ?Excellent project management skills are required. ?Must demonstrate a style of participative management in problem solving, project implementation and continuous improvement. ?Experience in interviewing and selecting quality applicants as team members
