Accountable for the 24 hour operation of the Women's Health Birthing Center. Accountable to plan, direct, implement and evaluate nursing activities of a patient care unit consistent with the philosophy of the Division of Nursing. This position requires independent functioning. Responsible for providing and evaluating quality patient care which is consistent with the established hospital, nursing service, and unit policies, procedures, and standards. This position is responsible for maintaining an up-todate knowledge of nursing trends and new developments in the health field in order to promote optimal standards of nursing care. This position manages and controls unit fiscal resources and budgetary changes in each department. Responsible for effective human relation and communication skills in interfacing with physicians, hospital personnel, patients, and families. Responsible to take positive actions to resolve issues and promote sound hospital, patient and employee relations. Responsible for personnel functions to include hiring, staff development, performance appraisal, discipline, and termination of directly reporting subordinates. Qualifications Requirements and Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse in State of Utah BSN Required Healthcare CPR (BLS) required NRP required within 6 months Minimum of three years clinical experience in an acute care facility in Women's services/Labor Delivery/Nursery/NICU Three to five years management experience required
