JOB SUMMARY:
DESP III Program Manager RESPONSIBILITIES: Successful candidate will manage multiple task orders and projects ensuring conformance to task specifications and contract provisions. Individual will be responsible for direction, oversight, and control of a team of multi-disciplined personnel to accomplish the overall management of each individual task order. The Program Manager will be responsible for customer and subcontractor interface for both technical and contractual actions. The individual will also be responsible for local marketing efforts, capture processes for potential new task orders, task order proposal planning and development, and general business development activities. The Program Manager will coordinate subcontractor activities including subcontractor capabilities evaluation for new task orders, monitoring and management of subcontractor performance, and review of subcontractor deliverables including invoices. The Program Manager will assess progress on individual task orders and the overall program including cost estimates, schedules, and performance supportability baseline requirements by applying known methods and procedures. Will advise supervisor of significant actions or problems and seek resolution. Analyzes inter-related issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity; develops recommendations to solve problems; and applies program management principles. Provides assistance and advice in planning, organizing, and coordinating activities of various functional specialists. Continually studies, reviews, and evaluates task order team(s) progress. Assists team(s) in establishing management controls such as milestones, expenditure rates, management indicators, and management reviews to reflect program status and provide early detection of emerging problems. Gathers and analyzes a variety of program information, makes sound judgments concerning program progress and effectively communicates recommendations to higher organizational management. The Program Manager will have a good working knowledge of Air Force programs, structure, activities, and personnel. The individual will have a proven background in managing engineering projects of the type and complexity that is expected to be procured under the DESP III program. TYPICAL DUTIES: - Analyzes operations/programs/task orders to evaluate performance thereof and determines areas of cost reduction and overall program improvement - Reviews financial statements and activity reports to ensure that the program's objectives are achieved - Directs and coordinates program activities involved in production, distribution, and purchasing - Monitors and coordinates all aspects of subcontractor activities - Maintains positive working relationships with customers, subcontractors, and company personnel - Coordinates and executes business development programs including capture activities and proposal development. SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS: Experience Required 4-10 years Program Management Experience Required; Business Development Experience Required; Air Force Experience Required; Engineering Program related experience required.
