JOB SUMMARY:
Supervises and coordinates all activities involving manufacturing, purchasing, shipping and receiving as well as quality assurance/control and manufacturing support functions such as engineering, planning and maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations to ensure a consistent quality product with minimum equipment down time. Plan the arrangement of requirements for certain products. Comply with all federal, state and local regulations regarding warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements. Develop and initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of employees, equipment, facilities and material. Safeguard manufacturing operations and warehouse contents. Maintain accurate inventory records by conducting physical counts on a monthly basis and reconciling with a data storage software program. Obtain business objectives and production schedules while maintaining product standards that will meet/exceed our customer's expectations. Communicate with upper management, other departments and customers verbally in written/email form, and graphically. Manage budgets and spending in relation to production volume and sales. Continually improve safety record and housekeeping by addressing both physical issues and employee attitude. Address personnel issues such as recruitment, training and discipline of staff. QUALIFICATIONS: Dedication, motivation. Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential. The ability to develop budgets, write reports, develop standards and maintenance equipment are a plus. A "hands on" management style is desired, along with team building and employee development skills. A college degree is strongly "preferred" but not required. The ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals. Ability to write reports. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients customers and the general public. The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area circumference and volume/ OTHER SPECIFIC DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare shipments going out, including checking bags, weights and safeness of load handling. Knowledge of Bills of Lading for proper counts and measures, shipping and receiving addresses and required signatures. Knowledge of trucking companies scheduling to coincide with plant hours of operation. Daily computer skills necessary to meet requirements of corporate office, load receivers invoices, requisitions, shipping BOLs and updated paperwork on production loads. An understanding of the basic set up of manufacturing equipment for continual operation or more efficient ideas to increase production. Enforce daily warehouse cleanliness to ensure outside regulatory specifications can be met. Ensure proper mixing of materials to lesson amount of re-work and quality of material, thus cutting down on delays in quota's set forth. BE A PROBLEM SOLVER NOT A PROBLEM MAKER!!!!
