JOB SUMMARY:
GENERAL PURPOSE Position focuses on instruction, training and mentoring of Medical Assistant students utilizing the Program?s innovative approach to training. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required, plus graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting Program. Certification as a medical assistant required, plus a minimum of 40 hours performing or observing medical assisting duties in ambulatory care. Two years of clinical experience preferred. Must successfully pass a criminal background check. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be knowledgeable in course content and be effective in evaluating student learning and laboratory performance. Needs to be prepared in educational theory and techniques. Requires strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Prior teaching experience desired. Maintains a positive and productive learning environment by working collaboratively with students, staff, faculty and College partners. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Will utilize instructional plans. Will direct and assess student progress in cognitive and psychomotor and affective requirements of the program. Teach required subjects at the level requested. Develop or assist in preparation of course materials as requested. Register students; maintain class attendance rosters; distribute course materials; administer tests (if applicable); provide student with instruction evaluation tool. Return completed registration forms, attendance rosters, extra course materials, tests, evaluations and other course materials to the appropriate department. Fosters a productive learning and training environment. Encourages and exemplifies professionalism and good work habits. Maintains and implements a classroom management plan consistent with College policy. Interacts with students in an atmosphere of open communication. Performs other related duties as required by the lead instructor. PRIMARY CUSTOMER College students and employees REPORTS TO Director of Programs
