JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate Technical Writer is a key member of our documentation team, responsible for the creation, development, and maintenance of technical information used by both internal and external audiences. For this position we are seeking fluent speakers in French.      Primary Responsibilities   Develops, writes, and maintains information for multiple purposes such as online help, installation and upgrade instructions, and release notes   Translates source documents into French   Gathers technical information for product releases by researching available product information, such as design specs and prototypes, as well as interviewing remote and local technical experts   Conducts independent tests of technical features and software/documentation usability   Functions as a member of a cross-functional software team in an agile development environment; collaborates with product management, software engineers, test engineers, and support personnel to produce product documentation based on established deadlines and milestones   Performs and implements technical and peer reviews of product documentation   Researches and understands document standards in specific international locales while ensuring consistency of product-specific or industry-specific elements between locales   Understands different user levels and writes to the appropriate level   Adheres to department and company standards, including templates and style guides      Core Competencies   Communication - Proficient in professional verbal/written communication; able to communicate effectively with individuals of varying technical expertise; clarifies details of complex tasks; Exceeds commitment to others by frequently delivering work early  Problem-Solving - Above-average ability to logically troubleshoot, identify, and resolve complex issues; able to identify and respond appropriately to issues; able to anticipate and address potential problems; develop highly creative and effective solutions despite a lack of information and time  Critical-thinking and Analysis - Able to make quick, effective decision, as well as the ability to work independently; detail-oriented and consistently delivers high-quality results; persistent in analysis of issues and problems to find solutions that best serve the Company  Collaboration and Team-Orientation - Strives to understand needs and goals of customers, both internal and external; able to work as a collaborative partner; Aligns individual efforts with those of the team and the teamrsquo;s objectives  Time Management and Productivity Manage multiple projects or cases with strict adherence to priorities and timelines; can prioritize work to identify and focus on most important projects; navigates quickly and effectively to resolve problems and obstacles, even when complex and unique circumstances occur      Required Education, Knowledge, and Experience   Bachelorrsquo;s degree in Professional/Technical Writing, Linguistics, Communications, or equivalent combination of experience and education is required   Fluent in French (verbal and written skills will be tested)   Excellent written and verbal communication skills   Ability to write for different audiences, especially in a professional environment   Ability to manage multiple translation and documentation projects simultaneously   No work experience is required, but relevant academic experience in technical writing or developing and publishing training information is preferred
