SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB: The Deputy Project Manager is responsible for contract execution in the absence of the Project Manager. The incumbent provides departmental oversight and support for personnel issues, finance/payroll transactions, and procurement activities. The Deputy Project Manager also coordinates with corporate personnel to supply information regarding the site and operations on an as needed basis. The incumbent actively participates in project planning, estimating, negotiations, execution, closeout, and related contract support. Position is contingent upon award. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS: - Implements processes to ensure responsiveness to customer requirements, timely completion of project milestones, and maximizes workload plan efficiencies. - Monitors operational performance, customer satisfaction, safety trends, and budget parameters. Keeps Project Manager and management appraised of issues and recommends corrective action. - Works with department managers to maximize workforce efficiencies. Advises and recommends strategies including realignment of job responsibilities, consolidating job duties, and/or reorganizing departmental structure. - Works directly with team members or management to estimate effort, plan activities, and negotiate consensus on appointed tasks. - Implements project goals as directed by Project Manager including motivating employees to perform, listening and providing feedback to employees, recognizing strengths and weaknesses, providing coaching and challenging opportunities. - Assists in the maintenance of the operational and project budgets. - Monitors and processes timesheets for direct reports. Ensures all department managers follow timesheet keeping policies. - Assists the Project Manager in maintaining financial performance, work performance, and a positive work culture. - Supports the Project Manager in all customer satisfaction initiatives. - Responds to site emergencies as required. - Operates company- or government-owned motor vehicle on occasion. - Performs related work as assigned. WORK CONDITIONS: The employee is regularly required to talk and hear to understand instructions, provide information and respond to safety warnings. Work conditions require the employee to stand; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; taste or smell; and work on scaffolding and ladders. Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions. The employee is subject to
