JOB SUMMARY:
Transportation Para-Educator I is needed for an American Fork educational institution. 1 position available @ 4 hours per day, variable hours, $8.92 per hour, beginning ASAP, Non-Contract; No Benefits. Under the direct supervision of transportation personnel assists with physical and emotional maintenance of students with disabilities while on the bus. Assists students with disabilities on and off the bus and helps maintain a safe and secure environment while on the bus. Secures wheelchairs and safety belts. Qualification: High School diploma or equivalent skill is required. Must demonstrate basic competence in reading, writing, math and interpersonal relations. Must pass physical examination. Must complete 6 hours of carefully developed in-house training during first six months of employment. Previous work or personal experience with the disabled is preferred. First Aid training is helpful. Must have references attesting to dependability, integrity and ability to work in the special education environment.
