JOB SUMMARY:

Will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of the Engineering Dept. in production support. This will include preparing new exercise equipment for production. Duties include: Designing, sourcing and introducing to production tooling for the manufacturing process. Modifying product design to improve quality, reduce manufacturing costs and improve assembly of the treadmills. Estimate the labor cost of new product before product is released into production. Work closely with RD engineers to accomplish product design with the best manufacturing methods. Solving quality problems that may arise in production and implement suitable safe and cost effective solutions. BS Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or related Engineering field required. Must have a minimum of 5 years work experience in a manufacturing environment. Applicants will be competent in metal fabrication. For example; welding,cutting, machining operations, fixturing, bending, etc. Should have good problem solving skills. Must be able to diagnose a problem and implement a solution quickly. Must be competent in tool design, engineering drawing documentation, Bill of Material management. Lean maufacturing knowledge and background will be necessary for applicants to this position. Prior work history of using and implementing lean principles in production is required.
