Employer is the leading designer and manufacturer of the worlds most rugged handhelds. We are looking for an ambitious Mechanical Design Engineer who will play a core role in the planning and development of new handheld computer products. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for aiding in conceptualizing, designing and the specification of product assemblies and components. The right candidate will be able to produce engineering documentation pertaining to mechanical and other components, documenting design decisions and capturing developed intellectual property appropriately. Key responsibilities include: Provides suggestions, required analysis, and technical expertise on the latest relevant technologies needed for assigned projects; Designs validation testing of the company product and/or subsystems; Provides internal product support as required on mechanical components; Aids in developing engineering process regarding design details, development processes, test and validation methods, project schedules, and defect resolution; Works directly with manufacturing partners regarding product details, design for manufacturability, manufacturing and verification concepts, material planning, support schedule coordination, future manufacturing technologies; Works directly with marketing, sales, and customer service regarding product details, development schedules and capabilities, support, and future product opportunities and requirements; Aids in making decisions regarding industrial and mechanical design details
