JOB SUMMARY:
Production Manager is needed for a Magna employer. The Product Manager will be responsible for maximizing product line margins via product pricing, cost optimization, product rationalization, long-term contracts, raw material supplier agreements, etc. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following: * Lead the development and implementation of Product/Market positioning strategies incorporating consideration for pricing, product development, manufacturing capabilities, specific competitors and promotional considerations. Assigned product annual revenue scope >$50M; * Insure that optimum communication and coordination is maintained with other functional groups, i.e. Research Technology, Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, Legal, etc.; * Contribute to updated product data sheets and product/technical literature, handouts etc. for assigned products; * Lead multi-functional team to bring new products to market; * Support Salt Lake City site-specific Carbon Fibers Sales and Marketing responsibilities with regards to customer visits, multi-functional recurring meetings at both weekly and monthly intervals; * Provide input for RT/Technology goals and milestones for assigned product areas and establish relative priorities; * Provide input to Hexcel?s Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) group for new product processes and manage New Product Introduction (NPI) processes for carbon fibers; * Work closely with Technical Support Engineering for Pre-Qualification and Qualification efforts for assigned product lines. Coordinate sales and customer interactions with technology and manufacturing to meet schedule commitments; * Manage production allocation options and trade-offs in conjunction with functional leadership from Integrated Supply Chain; * Provide product/technology expertise and leadership to Sales, Customer Service and Customers as required; * Define Market product needs; * Formulate and implement specific market segment strategies; * Track total market and Hexcel market share in global carbon fiber market; * Coordinate Strategic Planning (STRAP) activities as related to 3rd party carbon fiber sales; * Submit required progress reports on a timely basis and perform special assignments as directed by Carbon Fiber Group Product Manager; * Manage key programs to maximize responsiveness to customer needs. Coordinate manufacturing, technical, sales activities and issues; * Establish and maintain a professional and consistent work environment to help ensure the Hexcel facility in which this job resides remains a viable and healthy facility and provides a satisfactory work environment. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering or Business Administration from a 4-year college or university; * MBA degree a plus; * Minimum 7+ years of experience with ideally 3+ cross-functional assignments in the functions of engineering, production, quality, finance, purchasing, program management, pricing, contracts, business management, marketing, account management or sales. Preferably in the commercial aerospace industry and composites manufacturing; * Developing business acumen including experience in pricing and proposal development, contract negotiation, interpreting financial models, preparation of product strategies, developing project plans, and leading cross-functional program or product teams; * Developing leadership and influence skills to organize and direct the work of others and a matrix team environment without formal reporting relationships; * The ideal candidate must possess strong communication and analytical skills and be able to work effectively across all areas of the business; * Current computer literacy is a must, including full proficiency in the use of the entire Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project Manager, and Outlook), and a working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
