Senior Environmental Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:
Senior Environmental Engineer is needed for a Magna employer. Will be responsible for designing and implementing programs that support our commitment to sustainable environmental excellence. This position is responsible for assuring the environmental regulatory compliance of each our operation globally. It is emphasized that regulatory compliance is not the endpoint and, when in the opinion of company experts, a higher standard is more protective of the environment. The selected individual will be responsible for the following efforts: * On a plant by plant basis assure that the EMS of each plant is relevant to operations and is in compliance. * Revise and implement a more focused environmental auditing program and where appropriate implement ISO 14000. * Develop and implement a corporate program that assures operational compliance with the various environmental reporting obligations. * Together with senior operations managers, develop and maintain a rolling 5 year environmental compliance plan that supports growth plans. * Involved with our legacy matters, including Superfund sites. * Establish strong practices, systems, collaboration, and best practice sharing to drive and lead continuous improvement work in energy, water, GHG emissions, etc. Qualifications: * BS ? Environmental Engineering or related technical field; Master's degree preferred. * 15 years of experience in the EHS field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a multi-site environment. * Experience of regulatory agency interaction. * Superior communication, organization and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time. * Experience of practical application of a multi-site environmental management across different plants in different countries. * Detailed knowledge of EPA legislation in the US essential. Knowledge of European environmental regulations desirable.
