DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities Under limited supervision, will provide supervision, direction and training to Design team and/or CAD group and oversees the daily operations of assigned projects and/or CAD systems; will assist with CAD work assignments of the design staff; will provide recommendations to the department manager regarding the priority and scheduling of work assignments; will maintain files on the CAD system; will evaluate CAD software improvements and make recommendations regarding priority and scheduling of work assignments; will serve as instructor for training people in CAD and for instituting system upgrades; will prepare man-hour estimates for specific proposals requiring large CAD involvement; will evaluate the performance of CAD users and provide training as needed; will standardize CAD details; will develop CAD standards for Microstation and AutoCAD ?shortcuts;? will enforce adherence to departmental CAD standards through the performance of CAD peer reviews; will produce CAD drawings in Microstation and AutoCAD as required for projects; other duties as assigned; will directly supervise five to ten employees; will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization?s policies and applicable laws; responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employee; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. REQUIRED SKILLS: Requirements: * Two-year degree in a CADD related field * At least ten years of professional experience * Computer Skills: AutoCADD and Microstation
