JOB SUMMARY:
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for building repairs and maintenance work under the direction of the maintenance leader. ? Responsible for the completion of maintenance and repairs in barn in between lots of pigs (Preventative Maintenance) including: o Flooring and penning repairs o Feed System Repairs o Heater Repairs o Ventilation Repairs o All other repairs needed at the time ? Communicate and interact with the site manager to find out what repairs are needed ? Minimizing driving time by assuring appropriate supplies for each job are stocked on the service truck. ? Completing work in a timely manner and submitting a final report on the work order to the maintenance leader. REQUIREMENTS: ? Must have good organizational good communications skills ? Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in a maintenance or construction related field ? Minor electrical, plumbing and welding experience required ? Must be able to operate a 4WD truck and trailer ? Must maintain PQA Plus Certification ? Must follow biosecurity rules ? Self Motivated and be able to work unsupervised. ? Must be able to work an average 45 hour week with average 9 hour workday, which can vary frequently. Rotating days off requires weekend and holiday work. Abilities required: ? Must be able to walk and stand on concrete for 9 12 hours per day. ? Must be able to frequently climb over, under, and around penning. ? Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs. ? Must be able to tolerate animal dander, manure, dust, odors, and frequently noisy conditions. ? Must be able to do basic math and record accurate records. ? Rotating days off requires weekend, evenings and holiday work.
