JOB SUMMARY:
Forestry technician needed for a Moab employer. Individual will work as part of a two-person team to implement fuels reduction projects in Southeastern Utah on private land. Work includes use of hand tools, chainsaws and wood chippers, as well as basic maintenance of equipment. Tree cutting and limbing, chipping, piling, dragging brush, use of gps unit and cameras to document work, completion of work documentation forms. Physical ability to perform strenuous labor in adverse weather and site conditions is a key qualification. Ability to identify tree and shrub species is helpful. Experience operating 4X4 vehicle and towing equipment on unimproved roads. Must have valid Utah driver's license and be willing to travel on occasion for up to three nights. Position is temporary, no benefits, 30 to 40 hours per week. Work begins immediately.
