JOB SUMMARY:
Patient Service Representatives I / II - After Hours - Multiple Shifts are needed for a Murray employer. The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is the initial point of contact for external physicians and the public at large. The incumbent must possess exceptional public relations/customer service skills and be able to communicate with patients and physicians in an effective manner. Primary responsibilities are to identify the needs of the caller and execute a plan to meet the needs for registration, scheduling, billing/claims inquiries, My Health Online support, and general questions. The PSR I positions will be responsible for routine calls and will seek assistance from the PSR II positions as needed. The PSR II positions will be responsible for more complex calls and will coach/mentor PSR I's for learning opportunities. Qualifications: * High School degree or equivalent required. * For PSR II positions, AA or BA degree in communication, business or healthcare administration, or liberal arts OR equivalent work combination of coursework and experience in a service industry highly desired. * Medical coding and/or billing certification a plus. Experience / Knowledge / Skills: * PSR I - at least one year customer service experience / PSR II - 2-3 years experience in a customer service business office setting, preferably in a medical specialty practice, with directly transferable skills required. * Familiar with managed care, Medi-Cal, and Medicare eligibility, authorization and billing requirements a plus. * Must have demonstrated ability to work in a highly complex environment, able to communicate with clients (including patients, clinicians and physicians) effectively * Demonstrated ability to remain professional, even when working through difficult situations * Demonstrated ability to effectively research and resolve issues, including patient financial accounts, scheduling and registration * Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, Access or similar programs. Full time, day shift, multiple starting times, 8 hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
