JOB SUMMARY:
The Polysomnographic Technologist, or Sleep Lab Technician, provides a valued role in administering quality psychological studies of sleep or sleep related disorders. The Sleep Lab Technician works independently and with minimal supervision for extended periods of time, usually overnight. This position has the responsibility to place and attach electrodes, operate equipment, and monitor signals during tests. The Sleep Lab Tech administers questionnaires and records observations during the studies. The Sleep Lab Tech ensures a positive patient experience by educating patients and their families about the studies and by ensuring patients feel comfortable and at ease during their tests. Completing these duties provides the Polysomnographic Technologist the opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of many on a daily basis.    Entry Rate: 15.35  Benefits Eligible: Yes  Shift Details:This is a Night shift position, the hours are 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. This position, in general, will beSaturday/Sunday/Monday nights but applicant will need to be available to work weekends as well On-Call shifts as needed shift every 3 weeks.  Department: The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital  Additional Details: The candidate for this position is also required to support other facilities such as St Joseph villa, TOSH, Intermountain Medical Center and Alta View Hospital Sleep labs.    This position requires verifiable current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification. For additional information regarding CPR requirements please visit our Job Requirements Page .    Demonstrated ability to address and solve both technical and interpersonal problems    Available to work the night shift with demonstrated ability to do so    Demonstrated communication skills    Demonstrated ability to use computerized and mechanical equipment    Physical Requirements    Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds unassisted, be on your feet for entire shift including walking, pulling, pushing, twisting, etc.    Carrying, Hearing / Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pulling / Pushing , Seeing, Sitting, Speaking, Squatting / Kneeling, Standing, Walking    Preferred Qualifications    Six monthspatient care experience    Completion of a Human Anatomy courses    Six months EEG experience    Please Note  All positions subject to close without notice  Intermountain Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer M/F/D/V
