JOB SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Bakery Accounting Manager and the primary role is to work closely with the accounting team in performing all general accounting activities in an accurate and timely manner. This includes reconciliations, general accounting, period-end close and other accounting activities as required to ensure the accurate capture and reporting of financial and performance activities of the Bakery Accounting Office. PRINCIPAL ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES Create, validate and correct journal entries and inter-plant transactions Ensure timely and accurate preparation of accounting financial reports Review and recognize data requirements Execute closing procedures to ensure accordance with procedures Monitor and correct errors in data related to specific costs centers Execute and monitor accrual and reversing entries Perform preliminary review of monthly results Identify extreme trend variations Ensure all system generated reconciliations are performed and accurate Participate in process improvement reviews Monitor outstanding financial transactions and required approval requests Assist in the resolution of AP / AR outstanding issues and problems Investigate and resolve transaction exceptions Execute local account reconciliations Work with Bakery Accounting Manager to resolve high level issues as they arise Recognize and communicate potential issues / risks with Bakery Accounting Manager Job Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Management or Finance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bakery Industry experience a plus 2+ years in an accounting related position, preferably as an Assistant Controller or Accounting Supervisor
