JOB SUMMARY:
Heat Treat/Straightener Tracking Code 176209-950 Job Description GSC Job Description Job Title: Straightener Organizational Unit: Straightening Department Approval Date: Last Update: Reports To: Straightening Department Supervisor Primary Function: Responsible for dimensional control and inspection of castings to meet internal and external quality requirements. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: - Configure and operate the straightening presses and ovens. - Effectively use straightening and inspection fixtures as required according to procedure. - Dimensionally inspect and control castings using measurement and straightening tools per procedure. - Properly troubleshoot straightening fixtures. - Retrieve, clean and return tools to tool location. - Visually inspect castings for defects. - Maintain apos;apos;5sapos;apos; practices within department. - Maintain part and runner trace ability. - Understand and follow departmental procedures. - Other duties as assigned. Required Experience Minimum Job Requirements: - Ability to work in a production environment. - High noise tolerance. - Ability to work with basic hand tools. - Should be mechanically inclined. - Good hand and eye coordination. - Able to read and comprehend English. - High School Diploma or GED. - Willing to continuously learn. - Team Player - Record of good attendance. - Willing to work overtime. - Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds. - Good organizational skills. - Good communication skills. - Positive attitude. - Safety conscious. Desired Competencies: - Detail oriented. - Confidence to ask questions. - Interpret dimensional requirements. - Learn new skills with minimum instruction. - Completes tasks in a timely manner. - Trusts his/her own judgment. - Learns from mistakes and makes appropriate changes. - Good work ethic. - Ability to prioritize.
