JOB SUMMARY:
Position tasks and responsibilities include: Accountable for adhering to ORMC mission including meeting behavioral expectations (compassion, caring, and confidentiality), providing excellence in health care delivery, supporting dignity of all persons (empowerment) and responsible stewardship of resources. Coordinates, monitors and evaluates drug related activities, ensuring pharmacy services are comprehensive, accurate, responsive and dependable. Evaluates the quality of pharmaceutical care services including drug utilization review and effectiveness and controls planned and systemic processes for resolving problems. Monitors, evaluates and documents pharmacy related actives, minimizing hospital liability exposure and maximizing compliance to company, government and auditing agency requirements. Participates in the recruitment and training and ongoing competency certification of professional staff, ensuring quality pharmaceutical care of patients. Maintains ongoing educational programs enhancing capabilities of physicians, nurses, pharmacists and supportive personnel. Reports to the Medical Executive Committee. Participates in the MEC committee activities including the planned and systemic implementation, onitoring, and evaluation of the decisions and programs of the Committee. Follows guidelines that maintain for oneself, patients, visitors and co-workers and if classified as a category I or II employee under OSHA regulations, adheres to OSHA standards by wearing personal protective equipment, following universal precautions and being knowledgeable about blood born pathogens. Qualifications Required Job Qualifications include: Graduate of a college of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmacy Education. BS or Pharm.D degree. Master Degree in Business or Administration preferred. State licensure as a Pharmacist. Current Utah license to dispense controlled substances. Requires five years of progressive hospital pharmacy practice experience. Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 40 lbs. Job Summary
