Devcon Security, an industry leader in residential and commercial security systems, has an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst at our regional corporate headquarters in Orem, Utah. Devcon Security is an electronic security company which sells, installs, services, and monitors security systems in the residential and commercial markets. We allow our customers to ?live confidently? and feel safe in their home and business environment. Devcon Security recently partnered with Utah-based Pinnacle Security in order to provide improved services to our customers and employees. The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Vice President of Finance, the CFO and the senior management team with scheduled and ad hoc analyses. Particular focus for the position is to (1) oversee creation and management of comprehensive budgets and financial models, and (2) take complex projects related to specific business problems (as defined by senior management), synthesize data, distill findings, and recommend next steps. The role is intended for the person to become an in-house expert on key business strategic metrics, enabling the candidate to support senior business leaders in quickly identifying issues and offering recommendations on the strategic economic direction of the business. Key Responsibilities Business Metrics ? Develop in-house expertise on key strategic and operating metrics ? Quickly and correctly identify underlying areas of concern when issues are identified in dashboard metrics ? Understand and recommend action on key drivers of key performance indicators ? Audit existing reported metrics and expand on them when appropriate Reporting and Analytics ? Help manage/drive the company's monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and financial reporting processes ? Produce some weekly standard reports ? Support senior management with analysis needed to make important decisions. Analyst will be expected to make recommendations to senior management based on his/her analytical findings that will impact business strategy ? Use problem solving and creativity to apply appropriate metrics in the creation of compelling and thorough analyses Project Management/Execution ? Proven ability to take complex business analyses and projects from concept to completion, often requiring interaction with multiple departments ? Effectively prioritize requests in accordance with corporate goals ? Adapt quickly to constantly support key initiatives and priorities as they change Skills Candidate Profile ? 1-2 years of budget management, financial/business reporting and financial forecasting ? Intellectual and analytical curiosity initiative to dig into the ?why? of various results and a desire to grow responsibility and become a domain expert and strategic thought leader ? Must be comfortable with uncertainty. Projects and assignments will change rapidly, so the candidate must be flexible enough to accommodate changing priorities and timelines ? Able to work with different departments and teams to gather complete datasets and communicate findings and practices company-wide ? Able to work independently and proactively, identifying issues and raising them to management, as well as offering potential solutions. ? Demonstrated experience with modeling business scenarios strongly preferred ? Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a prerequisite. ? Bachelor's degree and solid background in mathematics, finance, accounting, or other quantitative discipline required.
