JOB SUMMARY:
Part-Time Inside Sales Representatives Location: Orem, UT GenealogyBank.com, a division of NewsBank, inc., is seeking inside sales representatives for our Orem, Utah office. As one of the world's most comprehensive genealogy resources, GenealogyBank.com helps historians and independent researchers discover fascinating details about American families. NewsBank has been one of the world's premier information providers for more than 40+ years, offering a wide selection of online resources to a variety of individuals and institutions. NewsBank's sales representatives play a critical role in retaining our valued customers and prospecting for new business. * Average hourly wage of $12-14+ (base + commission) (Top sellers earn on average $16-18 per hr.) * No cold calling! * Standard shifts (9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 1-5 p.m., M-F) * Flexible hours available * Great environment * Less than five minutes from BYU/UVU Responsibilities * Initiate outbound phone calls to current and prospective customers * Conduct needs-based selling by using non-scripted probing techniques to determine customer needs and to offer the most appropriate product or service to address those needs * Up-sell additional products/services * Meet or exceed individual goals, including revenue and productivity metrics * Contribute ideas on ways to improve sales process * Maintain basic knowledge of products, pricing, promotions, and procedures Qualifications * Ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner, both verbally and in writing * Ability to probe to identify, evaluate and recommend products and services * Ability to multi-task at a computer while talking to a customer over the telephone * Team mentality balanced by the ability to work independently * Basic knowledge of PC operations and Windows-based applications Education Experience * High school diploma or equivalent * One year of sales or related work experience a plus * Experience in a telesales/call center capacity a plus * Knowledge or study of family history a major plus
