PBX Phone Operator

JOB SUMMARY:
Provide prompt, courteous and efficient handling of all incoming calls which transpire through PBX (Operator). The PBX operator plays an integral part in assisting with emergencies, responding quickly and accurately to multiple situations, and interacting with all levels of individuals within the hotel, by contacting the designated personnel for immediate assistance, this position effects every department in the hotel. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES ?Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow The Resort?s etiquette guidelines. ?Direct all incoming calls to the appropriate person, hotel or department. ?Discuss, investigate and resolve a variety of unusual or difficult customer requests, problems or complaints. ?Confer regularly with immediate supervisor and various other department/Company personnel to plan, coordinate and evaluate activities/systems/procedures, resolve problems, exchange information, arrange for special guest requests to be met, etc. ?Perform other tasks as assigned. WORKING RELATIONSHIP Supervision is received form the Central Reservations Director, Reservations Supervisors or other senior staff member. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ?Office situation, i.e., sitting, standing or walking in a small area for extended periods of time. ?Repetitive keyboard action; manual dexterity required. QUALIFICATIONS ?Basic education (high school), with some college prefered. ?Good basic administrative, organizational skills, some previous supervisory experience desirable. Computer data entry experience. ?Training or experience in using computerized hotel reservation systems. ?Ability to deal effectively with customers as well as other company personnel, including ability to handle a wide variety of customer complaints, problems and special requests.
