JOB SUMMARY:

1. Assists in the training and supervision groups of families in the construction of their homes using the mutual self-help construction method. 2. Helps organize work crews of families for maximum efficiency of manpower and materials. 3. Teaches tool-use safety, maintains safe working conditions and obtains adequate tools for jobs to be performed. 4. Maintains records as required. 5. Keeps all aspects of construction in compliance with all applicable regulations, standards and codes. 6. Participates in all building inspections carried out by USDA-RD and local building inspectors. 7. Prepares house plans, dwelling specifications and cost estimates; secures subcontractors as required and monitors their work; orders and purchases construction materials. 8. Performs miscellaneous tasks 9. Helps promote and market Self-Help Program and organization
