POSITION SUMMARY: The Cashier is responsible for the speedy and friendly check-out of all customer purchases; responsible for cash handling at assigned register. DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES: Checks-out customer merchandise quickly and efficiently while offering friendly and courteous service; ensures that all policies are followed in regard to checks, gift certificates, charge cards, coupons, rebates and current ads and prices. TIME ALLOCATION: 85% Follows up for assistance when customers are beyond the 1+1 standard, scanning problems are encountered, supplies of cash or bags are depleted and security programs or procedures are in question TIME ALLOCATION: 10% Ensures front end area is in a neat and clean fashion. TIME ALLOCATION: 5% MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: 1. Able to handle cash transitions in a fast and accurate manner. 2. Able to handle all methods of check-out alternatives (charges, checks, etc.) 3. High school equivalent reading and math skills. 4. Demonstrates strong knowledge of all policies affecting check-out procedures. 5. Able to communicate with and be assertively friendly with customers. 6. Must demonstrate ShopKo?s commitment to provide exceptional customer service.. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS WORK REQUIREMENTS: 1. Ability to work daytime, evening and weekend hours to meet the needs of the store. 2.
