JOB SUMMARY:
Functions as an integral member of regional leadership team ensuring that assigned departments and services provide Extraordinary Care, supporting regional and Intermountainapos;s mission, vision, values, strategic initiatives and goals by driving improvement programs. Advisor to the CEO, CNO, and CMO regarding process improvement and patient safety. Provides data and analysis that informs strategic and tactical decisions: quality, patient safety, patient flow, and a wide variety of administrative questions. Accountable for providing support and project management for process improvement initiatives; data analysis and reporting for facility-wide projects, development of hospital processes and outcome measurements accompanied by report generation; expert process consultation to leadership. Participates in creating regional strategies and goals. Provides overall leadership and management direction for assigned departments and services to ensure consistent, fair and effective problem solving. Models and promotes regional and Intermountain mission, vision and values, including contributing to Extraordinary Care. Leads by example and holds others accountable. Advisor to CEO, CNO, CMO and leadership on how to organize for process improvement and patient safety. Provides a large portion of the data and analysis that impacts strategic and tactical decisions re: quality, patient safety, patient flow, and a wide variety of administrative question Participates as a member of various functional leadership committees and leadership teams to identify and select which projects will be recommended as hospital goals or strategic initiatives Coordinates Design, development and implementation of data collection and reporting systems including process design, form design, report design and programming. Provide Strategic Management support and analysis through querying data from a wide variety of electronic sources, including electronic data warehouse (EDW), tactical databases, Access databases, and other specialized data sources, (ex. Hospital wide Performance Measures, Dashboards and scorecards for a wide range of units, services, teams, and committees, Data submission to government entities, accreditation institutions, benchmarking groups, etc.) Generates and analyzes ad hoc data requests for administration, managers, physicians, staff, and researchers. Ranges from simple data pulls to detailed and comprehensive analysis. Partners with physicians and clinical staff (CMO, associate medical directors, surgeon in chief, medical staff, etc.) and relevant committees to identify opportunities for quality improvement, prioritize projects, and troubleshoot. Ensures and manages operating and capital budgets for assigned areas. Manages the necessary resources to meet department needs and the mission, vision and values. Partners with CFO and Director of Planning on new strategic initiatives to enhance value through process improvements resulting in utilization reductions. Establishes and maintains a competent, effective leadership team through effective recruitment, motivation, supervision and development. Maintains sound employee relations and practices that maintain high employee morale and productivity. Ensure all services are appropriately staff. Trains, orients and consults with project team leads to define objectives, deliverables, roles, responsibilities, and schedules. Partners with physicians to identify opportunities for improvement of information systems, plan information systems strategies, and troubleshoot.
