JOB SUMMARY:
**All resumes must be accompanied by a sample from your portfolio or a URL linking to your online portfolio. ** Job Title: Graphic Designer Department: Sales FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: Product Design Manager Work Hours: F/T Job Summary: Work with the design manager, other team members, and vendors to produce and maintain surface designs, stamp designs, embellishment designs, packaging and digital graphics from conception through production. Essential Job Functions: 1. Participate in creative strategy meetings with Design Manager, product managers, specialists, and graphic designers to collaborate in determining project specifications for developing concepts, presentations, art work, production files, and execution of timelines for new products. 2. Create exclusive innovative designs in the categories of paper, rubber stamps, embellishments, alphabets, and 3D templates; determine layouts including graphic selection, placement, theme, typography selection, size, color, and overall look and feel. 3. Create prototypes, and/or procure samples of new products for the purpose of testing and functionality, and project sample creation. 4. Design packaging and other electronic and printed material for new products according to vendor specifications. 5. Convert artwork into digital/electronic images. 6. Proof materials prior to production. 7. Make artwork revisions according to production needs. 8. Archive and organize artwork and identification sheets electronically for future retrieval from electronic graphic library. 9. Prepare and convert files for vendors and catalog. 10. Use technology, communication and sourcing to improve quality and cost efficiency of creative projects. 11. Communicate daily with Design Manager and design team to meet team objectives. 12. Research trend and design to evaluate industry design, cost, quality, and competition. 13. Attend press checks when needed for approval of art, color, quality and layout. Requirements: 1. Degree in graphic design, illustration, or fine arts. 2. Two years minimum of professional experience in the graphic design arena, creating visuals in a corporate setting. 3. Expertise in designing with Macintosh graphic programs such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator programs with ability to illustrate in freehand. 4. Experience creating repeated surface designs, stamps, and embellishments, with knowledge of layout, color and printing principals. 5. Attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within specific timelines. 6. Good communication organizational skills with a willingness to share ideas, receive constructive direction, and contribute in a collaborative effort. 7. High degree of initiative with ability to work independently and in a team environment.
