Small Package Delivery Driver

JOB SUMMARY:
CastAway Courier is a FedEx Ground Contractor delivering the best on-time delivery service for the Uintah Basin and Western Colorado. We work Monday-Friday with the weekends off. We currently work a 4-5 day work week for full-time drivers and 1-3 days for part-time drivers. A driver's day starts at 6:30 am. Most days the driver gets finished between 3-5pm. However, we expect the driver to be out until all packages are delivered. Drivers should expect to work 8-10 hour days. This includes driving, pickup and delivery, and break times. Some days a driver might be out until 7:30 pm, but that is the latest they can be out, since the outbound line haul trailer must dispatch to Salt Lake City. There is a lot of physical activity involved in this job. For example, getting in and out of the vans while carrying packages. The average package weighs 50 lbs, but the driver must be able to lift up to 150 lbs. All vans carry hand trucks to help with the heavier packages. Since we are delivering for FedEx Ground, we must follow their hiring standards. All applicants must present a full 10 year work history with no gaps, pass a Federal Background check, and pass a DOT Physical and Drug Screening. Applicants must have driven a business/commercial vehicle that was at least 23 ft long for one (1) year within the last three (3) years to qualify. The hiring process usually takes between 2-4 weeks.
