JOB SUMMARY:
Position Title: Aircraft Mechanic/Technician - SLC Reports To: Service Department Manager Expectations for All Employees: Supports the organization's mission, vision, and values by applying the principals of trust, honesty, respect, integrity, and commitment. Position Summary: The work of a mechanic/technician consists of any and all tasks generally recognized as, but not limited to, a mechanic's work on or about aircraft, its component parts and related equipment performed at line stations, major stations and shops. Mechanic/Technicians may be required to inspect and test systems, component parts used in their work and sign for the work performed. Must be capable of performing their work satisfactorily to our company standards. Mechanics/technicians may be required to instruct less experienced employees. Primary Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to: Performs all maintenance and repairs on aircraft for which he is assigned and qualified. Approves aircraft for return to service after scheduled or unscheduled maintenance for which he is authorized and qualified. (Minimum requirement of an AP, if we are dealing with an outside repair facility and is authorized to do so by the Director of Maintenance or Chief Inspector but, in our facility the technician must be listed on Repair Station certificate as a qualified inspector.) Keeps own work areas clean. Returns all equipment and tools checked out at end of work shift. Reports all inoperative or faulty equipment to his/her Supervisor. Completes all paperwork for the maintenance he performs. Assures that hangar workshops, and other areas assigned are maintained in a safe, secure and orderly manner. Assists the Director of Maintenance in maintaining technical manuals in a current status. Will have an adequate tool kit. Qualifications/Skills: Must hold a valid Airframe, Power Plant or A P Certificates as appropriate. Customer Service Manages difficult or emotional customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service, responds to requests for service and assistance, and meets commitments. Interpersonal Skills Focuses on solving conflict through positive collaboration, maintains confidentiality, keeps emotions under control, remains open to others ideas and tries new things. Work Environment Variables: Frequent exposure to general shop conditions, engine noise. Frequent exposure to aircraft exhaust, moving mechanical parts, lubricants, metals, and solvents. Frequent exposure to seasonal weather. EOE
