JOB SUMMARY:
Title: Associate Regulatory Analyst / Regulatory Analyst Location: UT-Salt Lake City For internal MidAmerican Energy Holding Company employee consideration only. General Purpose Conducts financial and regulatory analysis through research, gathering and interpretation of data, development of alternatives and recommendations. Presents analysis and recommendations to management and may implement selected alternative. Analyses include, but are not limited to, financial analysis, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, trending/forecasting, budget analysis and reporting. Associate levelresponsibilities include the following: * Gather financial data and analysis in order to prepare financial earnings reports. * Prepare testimony and exhibits filed with state regulatory commissions and provide analytical support. * Gather, analyze, and interpret data for trends, forecasts, and modeling. * Conduct analysis related to revenue requirement, other regulatory financial studies and reporting. In addition to the above, the Regulatory Analyst responsibilities include the following: * Design analyses and prepare revenue requirement studies, proposals, exhibits and special studies. * Preparation and defense of rate filings including testimony, exhibits and documentation. * Preparation of financial reports submitted with commissions and other external stakeholders. * Provide alternatives and recommendations to management. * Act as liaison with company departments, commission staffs and other utilities regarding revenue requirement calculations, data requirements and technical research as needed. * Consult with internal and external customers regarding matters and issues which may be sensitive in nature. Associate level requirements of this position include: * BachelorA??s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. * Ability to prioritize and coordinate projects and be accountable for project outcomes. * Data gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, forecasting, and modeling skills. * Knowledge of applicable Company policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations. * Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and model information. * Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature. * Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds and ability to work as a member of a team. In addition to the above, the Regulatory Analyst role includes the following: * A minimum of three years of regulatory experience. * Ability to present alternatives and recommendations. Preference may be given to candidates who meet the above requirements and have the following: Associate level: * Three years of experience in data gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, and modeling. * Special certifications or an advanced degree. * Experience with SAP. * Advanced Microsoft Excel/Visual Basic experience.
