The incumbent ensures relevant policies, procedures and laws are implemented. This individual participates in the interview process as well as assesses, develops and provides training for new and existing employees. This position has the authority to determine appropriate training needs and initiate disciplinary action.    Essential Functions:    *Supervises employees or processes including prioritizing daily work activities, evaluating outcomes and recommending changes.  *Provides human resources activities by assisting in the selection of employees, overseeing training functions, evaluating performance and initiating disciplinary action.  *Prepares employee work schedules; approves time off, monitors and submits payroll.  *Organizes and conducts staff meetings.  *Maintains inventory of supplies and makes or recommends purchases.  *Serves as a resource to identify, research, and resolve problems and complaints.  *Assists management with the development of the budget.  *Researches related policies and procedures and assists in implementing the findings.  *Generates and compiles reports related to coded data; updates financial records.    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:    *Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.  - Proficient with MS-DRG and APR-DRG related issues  - Excellent written and verbal communication skills  - Ability to effectively interact with clinical staff    *Knowledge of Health Information technology, Epic and Cerner preferred. *Demonstrated organizational, human relations and effective communication skills.  *Ability to provide care appropriate to the population served.  *Supervisors need to be proactive in responding or providing guidance when problems arise.  *Ability to resolve staff and scheduling conflicts in order to meet department goals and needs.  *Ability to orchestrate multiple tasks simultaneously is essential.    Qualifications:    Required
