JOB SUMMARY:
Cost Accountant October 26, 2012 - November 26, 2012 Location: Salt Lake City, UT Salary Range: $50-70K Employment Type: Full Time Employer: Prince, Perelson amp; Associates Description: Cost Accountant $50-70K Job Responsibilities: Qualified applicant will manage the understanding and execution of cost measurement and cost management in the development and launch of new and existing products. The scope of influence will encompass both understanding and analysis of MFG accounting and MFG MES tractability systems. This position will ensure appropriate due diligence regarding product cost scrutiny and will manage through consensus building and objective influence. This position plays a key role in leading the integration of cost modeling and alternative cost evaluation. Includes specific financial aspects of a program; capital, development expense and unit cost. Responsible for maintaining accurate standard costs of raw materials and MFG products and finished goods in our ERP, Sage 500 ERP. This position will exert influence through a matrix relationship and have representation on appropriate forums. Effective performance in this function will result in new product cost which achieves the financial objectives as part of their respective business cases. Job Qualifications: A degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred, but not required. Experience in manufacturing and product development preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills before senior leadership, demonstrated ability to lead others and to affect organizational development through influence and consensus building. Direct experience managing others preferred. Must possess a working knowledge of accounting, finance and cost management techniques as well as an understanding of key product development business metrics and key processes employed in manufacturing. Must understand the impact of new product cost on overall business financial performance.
