JOB SUMMARY:
Credentialing Specialist I #142799 needed for a Salt Lake area employer. This at-will position is responsible for providing administrative support to CVO as well as data entering, gathering, and verifying healthcare practitioner information, which includes in-depth or detailed data collection for addition to the CVO database. Primary methods of researching information include phone, fax, e-mail, and letters. Adheres to company mission and values. Job Duties: Essential - * Maintains archive files for CVO Team * Answers, places, screens, and routes telephone calls * Corresponds with hospitals, clinics, and internal departments verbally and in written communications * Monthly processing of billing and reconciliation of invoices * Process files and prepare for scanning * Scans credentialing documentation and sends to clients * General filing and general administrative support of CVO * Data enters assigned files into credentialing database. * Mails, e-mails, faxes, and calls for verification requests to the appropriate primary sources (e.g., hospitals, licensing boards, etc.) to gather and verify healthcare practitioner information. * Researches verification information via the Internet and other electronic databases and enters into database. * Contacts practitioners/primary sources/clients for missing information identified during the credentialing process. * Enters researched and/or corrected information into the credentialing database. * Reviews and organizes files for accuracy and completeness in preparation for auditing. * Monitors and reports on the status of credentialing files at file discussion meetings. * Participates in Team Building functions. * Other duties as assigned by management. Non-essential - * Completes other clerical duties as assigned. Requirements Skills: Required - * Demonstrate effective phone/verbal and written communication skills * Computer and data entry skills: includes MS Word, Excel and database Advanced Word and Excel skills. * Accurately type 35 wpm * Excellent attention to detail * Interacting, communicating and corresponding with professionals and professional organizations * Be detail oriented with ability to recognize vital information from verification documents * Ability to prioritize well and meet overlapping deadlines * Demonstrate problem-solving, critical thinking, and deductive reasoning skills Experience Education: Required - * High school education or equivalent work experience. Preferred - * Familiarity with the medical field and/or medical terminology * Previous customer service and/or phone experience * Previous office and clerical experience * Experience with databases, data entry, Microsoft Word and Excel Abilities: Required - * Self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision * Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to achieve goals and meet deadlines * Make quick and accurate judgments * Use active listening techniques effectively to determine the concerns, needs, and motivations of customers, co-workers, providers, etc. * Function in team environment * Ability to learn and use credentialing database and other related databases * Ability to obtain information via the Internet * Ability to follow instructions and use time productively * Ability to work individually as well as in a highly functional team environment * Ability to effectively manage customer service issues and maintain team quality expectations
