JOB SUMMARY:
Cultural Resource Technician is needed for a Salt Lake City employer. We are seeking to hire temporary Cultural Resource Technicians for our office in Salt Lake City, Utah to be members of our Tech Services pool. The selected candidate will assist the Project Manager and/or Field Directors in the execution of cultural resource projects within the Intermountain West. Responsibilities: Our Salt Lake City office is seeking experienced Cultural Resource Technicians to provide, on an as-needed basis, assistance in completing cultural resource management projects. Typical work includes conducting file searches, intensive level pedestrian inventories, site recordation, monitoring, evaluative testing, and data recovery excavations. Field work will require working in remote areas during varying weather conditions. Office work will be project specific and will typically involve the assistance of report production efforts. Work will be located throughout the West, including Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. Experience: The position requires prior completion of an archaeological field school and at least two years of professional experience. Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to work well within a project team structure, flexibility in work schedule, and ability to collect archaeological data efficiently and at high quality. MSHA training and experience working on projects for private sector energy clients is a plus. Skills Requirements: The successful candidate will have the technical skills related to conducting cultural resource management work, including experience with inventory, resource identification, site recordation, and use of a Trimble GPS unit. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work as a team member and/or independently to finish projects on schedule, within budget, and to an exemplary level of quality. Since these positions are temporary, as needed basis, local Utah residents are preferred. Degree Requirements: B.A. or B.S. degree or higher in Archaeology/Anthropology, or related field strongly preferred. The position requires frequent travel. During field work, hotel is single occupancy and per diem is provided.
