JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Data Managerdirects and coordinates multiple aspects of analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of Clinical Programs information systems. This position coordinates projects with Information Services in order to effectively use information technology solutions to improve clinical operations. Working with health care providers, this position creates the systems and procedures for data collection and electronic medical records. These systems are required to quantify the impact of Clinical Program goals on clinical outcomes and cost. The Data Manager is responsible for managing the ongoing integrity of existing data systems and insuring integration across the organization.    Coordinates applicable database analysis, design, and information flow with database administrators throughout the corporation    Acts as a data steward, assuring completeness, accuracy, internal consistency, and timeliness of databases and establishes data integrity by coordinating the data extraction and data entry process    Develops technical support specifications and tools while reviewing technical documentation for completeness / accuracy    Resolves moderately complex problems in information technology, articulates issues and applies solutions in an effort to create best clinical processes    Performs moderate to highly complex ad-hoc queries for users using SQL or other database tools    Develops, implements, and maintains documentation tools and data collection instruments necessary for generation and support of Clinical Program /S ervices outcomes reports    Coordinates and provides leadership in the design, implementation and maintenance of clinical data management systems and documentation    Manages implementation of IS solutions, coordinates with IS staff and clinical users, and provides ongoing evaluation to assure success    Assists information users in understanding relationships between data, processes, and outcomes of the services they provide in order to identify areas of potential improvement to support Clinical Program goals    Reviews current literature and research findings in collaboration with Clinical Program / Services leadership    Minimum Requirements    Bachelorapos;s Degree; Education is verified and must be obtained through an accredited institution    Four yearsexperience in a clinical or healthcare technical IT area, with two years experience working with quality data systems    Four or more years prior experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail applications    Two or more years of prior experience performing moderately complex database queries using SQL    Experience using statistical research methods and their use in outcomes reporting    Experience writing technical specifications and managing implementation projects    Ability to travel to various locations    Physical Requirements    Manual Dexterity, Seeing, Speaking    Preferred Qualifications    Masterapos;s Degree    Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) degree    Clinical Licensure    Prior experience working within a hospital clinical area and an understanding of workflows and hospital processes    Please Note  All positions subject to close without notice  Intermountain Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer M/F/D/V
