We are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator to join our Managed Services team. The Managed Services team provides hosting services, product support and technical expertise in managing Tomax retail management software applications. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in customer support and in-depth database administration. Competitive pay and great benefits package available, including: - Medical insurance - Dental insurance - Vision insurance - 401(k) and Roth 401(k) with employer matching - Employer paid basic group term life insurance - Employer paid long term disability insurance - Short term disability insurance - Flexible spending accounts - Health savings accounts with employer contributions - Generous paid time off allowances that begin to accrue immediately Duties: Specific responsibilities include: - Providing design assistance, analyzing and managing application and database solutions with technical emphasis in performance monitoring, problem identification and resolution; - Assisting with tuning and monitoring of the operational efficiency and technical integrity of applications in support of internal and external customers; - Assisting with installations, patches and upgrades to Tomax Retail.netamp;#61651; products; - Performing data analysis, testing and software configuration of customer environments as necessary; - Analyzing trends and reporting potential problems or areas of improvement; - Prioritizing numerous issues of varying severity, and effectively managing the resolution of all issues within accepted service levels; and - Assisting with the creation and maintenance of departmental documentation and standards Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess: - Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area (equivalent work experience will be considered); - 3+ years experience with Oracle 9i/10g/11g database and application services including installation, maintenance, tuning, monitoring and backups; - Experience working with external customer production environments; - Experience with Oracle upgrades; - Significant hands-on experience with PL/SQL, SQL Plus, stored procedures/packages, import/export, database administration and replication; - Strong proficiency in running Oracle on Linux or other UNIX platforms; - Experience with NAS Storage systems is preferred, though not required; - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; - Ability to work with customers through difficult technical problems while maintaining a high level of professionalism; and - Ability to participate in 24/7 rotating on-call schedule.
