JOB SUMMARY:
***Position Overview*** Under the general direction of the Director of Transmission Expansion Planning, this position will support the Regional Transmission Expansion Planning (RTEP) activities of the Transmission Expansion Planning Policy Committee (TEPPC) and its subgroups. ***Major Duties*** 1) Evaluate regulatory and public policy implications on electric system reliability and economics. 2) Perform economic and reliability analysis on regional transmission and resource planning scenarios. 3) Prepare technical reports on the relationship between policy decisions and electric infrastructure choices. 4) Provide decision support for high-level policy discussions on electric reliability and planning. 5) Present findings in public discussions on electricity policy and reliability. ***Minimum Qualifications*** Education ? Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, or other related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience resulting in demonstrated ability to perform major duties. ***Experience/Skills*** 1) Three years progressively responsible work experience in electric power system planning, economics, energy policy, and/or energy marketing fields. 2) An understanding of renewable energy, demand-side resources, and other emerging technologies. 3) Excellent business writing and communication skills, including the ability to provide clear, concise, actionable instructions as needed. 4) Ability to set and meet self-imposed deadlines and conclude assignments with minimal external guidance. 5) Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus 6) Proven ability to provide timely, professional assessments with limited information and/or assumptions and confidently act on decisions. 7) Ability to work effectively in a team environment as a facilitator and/or team member. 8) Enthusiasm for these issues and the evolving dynamics in the Western Interconnection.
