JOB SUMMARY:
UTAH STATE FAIRPARK EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Position: Fairpark Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer Salary: Begins at $80,000 and increases upon experience. Benefits include retirement, 401k, medical and dental. Reports to: Utah State Fairpark Board of Directors Major functions: 1. Planning Development: Plan, develop and implement strategies for generating resources and/or new revenues for the overall facility. 2. Board Administration Support: Responsible for executing all directions from the Board of Directors including operations and vision achievement. Ensure that the Board is kept fully informed on the condition of the organization and all important factors influencing the property and operation. 3. Program Project Management: Oversee the facility's programs and projects, ensure high-level quality delivery. Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in associated fields. 4. Financial Management: Prepare yearly budget for Board approval, manage budget/resources according to current laws and regulations, and oversee all Park financial operations. Maintain official records and documents and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. 5. Human Resources Management: Effectively manage and recruit all staff. Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and local governmental agencies. Ensure job descriptions are developed, regular performance evaluations are held and sound human resource practices are in place. Maintain a climate which will attract, retain and motivate a diverse staff of top quality individuals. 6. Community Public Relations: Represent the facility, its mission, programs, projects and services by consistently presenting a strong, positive image to the general public and media. Ensure the publicizing of the activities of the facility, its programs and goals. 7. Property/Facilities Management: Plan, direct and supervise the operations and activities of the facility. Qualifications/Requirements: ? Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or related field. Preference given to those with Master's Degree in Business or Public Administration. ? Five years of related work experience, two of which are in management/supervisory role. ? Significant experience in property, program and financial management. Knowledge, Skills Abilities: Proven leadership skills needed with an emphasis in strategic planning. Previous experience in government relations and fundraising is beneficial but not necessary. Exceptional communication and organizational skills required. Analytical and strategic planning experience and presentation skills are also helpful. The ability to work with organizations, staff and a board of directors is a must. A comprehensive knowledge of the principals, practices, procedures and materials used in facility and building maintenance and management are highly suggested. A working knowledge of facility development, real estate and operational planning are suggested.
