JOB SUMMARY:
General Function Performs a variety of maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical servicing on buildings, mechanical equipment, and utility systems. Also assists with Laboratory and office furniture installations and moves. Reporting Function This position reports to the Chief Building Engineer/ Maintenance Supervisor. Essential Functions 1. Electrical tasks including light bulb replacement, ballast change, and circuit breaker identification and labeling. 2. Plumbing tasks including bathroom fixtures and Sloan valves replacement. 3. Wall patching and painting. 4. Furniture moves and installations, furniture repairs and assembly, including cubes, desks, workbenches, laboratory furniture, shelves, and chairs. 5. Assists with installation of cabling. 6. Maintains air conditioning components including thermostats, duct, vents, and fuse replacement. 7. Light construction and all-around repairs. 8. Maintains facilities equipment, parts, supplies, and tools in orderly manner within storage area. 9. Continually works with and assists other tradesmen. 10. Operates tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work. Other Functions 1. Use of the company vehicles on company business. Individuals must be at least 21 years of age and physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and have an acceptable driving record (no violations within two years). Individuals must have knowledge of the geography of the community. 2. Individuals must comply drug free workplace policy and will be subject to random screens. Policy requires pre-employment, post accident, and random drug screens. 3. Some light housekeeping duties as needed. 4. Load and unload boxes, equipment, and furniture from delivery trucks when needed. 5. Other duties may be assigned.
