JOB SUMMARY:
Title: Financial Staff Analyst (Operations) Location: USA-Utah-Salt Lake City Other Locations: Position Profile: The Finance Staff Analyst is concerned with financial planning, accounting, control of overhead budgets, and other indirect expense functions for all Operations functions and its components in support of the build and development of high performance data links for L-3 Communications - a leader and prime defense contractor in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and secure communications. Competencies: The Finance Staff Analyst will provide financial analyses and accounting to plan, monitor and record all activities of financial performance that relate to overhead, work orders and other indirect expenses supporting Operations management and their objectives while ensuring that all groups comply with company and government requirements. * Assignments are complex in nature and require independent action and judgment on problems of diverse scope. * Accountable for schedules, performance and quality of entire task or project of significant importance. * Supports weekly and monthly reporting of overhead performance to plan for organizations within Operations. * Responsible for preparation of detailed annual operating/overhead budgets for all Operations functions in support of guidelines indentified by Finance. * Perform analyses of various natures; address areas of concern; coordinate and resolve issues with Management and Finance. * Operations point of contact for all work order tasks. Education/Experience: This position requires a Bacheloramp;#39;s degree in Accounting or Finance or a similar degree, and six or more (6 ) years of related experience. A qualified candidate would have good analytical skills and creativity with the ability to work with numbers and be detail-oriented. Performs complex financial analysis or accounting functions and detailed analysis, planning or modeling. Knows financial, accounting or other specialized principles, practices and regulations/standards for the solution of complex financial tasks and problems. Special Requirements: * Due to the nature of our work this position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance. * This position may require overtime, weekend, holiday and/or second shift work. * Practical experience with FAR, CAS and other government regulations desired. * Practical experience with developing Operations and Capital Budgets desired. * Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Access databases desired. * Knowledge of L-3 Communications developed programs (Mapper) is helpful This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicantamp;#39;s skills, education and experience.
