NSD is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Salt Lake City facility has an on-site cafeteria, state-of-the-art fitness center, and a friendly casual work environment. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummanapos;s Facilities maintenance department, responsible for repair, maintenance, and upkeep, of building equipment and facility. Roles and Responsibilities: A?? Troubleshoots, repairs and overhauls equipment such as air compressors, pumps, air handlers, air dryers, heat exchangers, other environmental changing devices, other mechanical equipment or electrical, pneumatic and electronic components. A?? Installs, maintains or repairs pneumatic valves, electric valves, heat transfer equipment, ventilation and air distribution equipment. A?? Installs and replaces all types of pumps or refrigeration equipment, according to prints, specifications, diagrams or other instructions. A?? Reads gages and instruments and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls and pumps to control level of fluid pressure and distribution in systems. A?? Tests malfunctioning systems and components using electrical, mechanical, digital and pneumatic controls. A?? Gas burner mechanics fix and adjust heating systems that use natural gas. These systems include large industrial boilers. A?? Maintains cooling towers, water treatment facilities and tower distribution system. A?? Prepares estimates for repairs and installation of equipment. A?? Performs planned maintenance, regular servicing and repairs to refrigeration equipment of all types, sizes and temperature ranges. A?? Maintains records of repairs or equipment requiring future service. A?? Coordinates work schedules with other departments and shops in order to keep inconvenience to a minimum. A?? Provides technical direction to air conditioning service workers Basic Qualifications: A?? High School, Completion of a Technical degree and a four year apprenticeship A?? Minimum of 6 years of HVAC or refrigeration equipment installation, maintenance and repair experience. A?? This position will require a current Utah driverapos;s license Preferred Qualifications: A?? Knowledge of the HVAC or refrigeration tools, materials and test equipment. A?? Knowledge of repair, maintenance and installation techniques. A?? Skill in reading and understanding schematics. A?? Skill in analyzing HVAC or refrigeration malfunctions from performance and test equipment readings and determining appropriate repairs.
